Beach Rules
No glass on the beach—stick to cans or plastic cups. Dogs are welcome but must follow posted leash hours, especially during the day and in peak season. During nesting season, give loggerhead sea turtle nests plenty of space and never disturb them.
Breach Inlet
Breach Inlet sits at the southern tip between Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. It’s a beautiful spot to watch for dolphins and explore tidal pools at low tide, but the currents are extremely dangerous—please enjoy the view and never swim here.
Tides & Sandbars
At low tide, wide sandbars and tidal pools appear along Isle of Palms — great for shelling and splashing with kids. Just keep an eye on the tide and head back in before the water comes in around you.
Swim Near Lifeguards
Stick to guarded areas and always check the beach flags before you swim. Conditions can change quickly, so follow lifeguard instructions and posted signs.
